What some of my guitar students have to say...
At 70 I decided that I wanted to be able to do more than play a couple of simple tunes on guitar. After visiting a couple of local teachers who were really not very suitable I found Garry in Wickham and found his teaching to be patient and he helped me to progress on my journey. The one to one lessons were well prepared and easy to understand and were usually followed by some items sent online to assist in home practice.
His knowledge and love of the instrument has been extremely helpful and got me wanting to keep progressing.

Having had lessons over the years with various teachers, I found Garry's relaxed approach very helpful and certainly fun and informative, which improved my playing immensely.

I would definitely recommend Guitar tutor Garry Draper!
As a more mature student, Garry taught me so much about playing acoustic and electric guitar.
I was a beginner, so I didn't really know very much.
He is patient, kind and very knowledgeable in his profession.
He set goals and homework for me, which really helped.
Thanks to him, I now have a greater understanding of this wonderful musical instrument, strum along to my favourite rock melodies and feel so much more confident!
Thank you so much!!

Patient and motivating- Garry has given me the necessary tools and guidance to learn to play guitar, even when working remotely.
Thank you so much for your hard work!

Garry's an amazing teacher, taught me the Electric Guitar from the age of 8 right up till I was 16/17! Helped me achieve all my grades up to 6, which in return also helped me in higher education right through university. The skills I gained from all those years I still use today and will never forget!

Jake started lessons with Garry when he was 8yrs old. He is now 21. Garry's patience and tuition has set him on his career path resulting in him just about to finish his degree in music production mixing and mastering at Southampton. Initially we were unsure if he would continue lessons as a typical 8yr old some weeks his concentration was in short supply. However he stuck at it and as he matured with Garry's encouragement he took his music grades successfully to grade six. We are very proud of our grandson who without Garry's gentle tuition would not have chosen his university course.

I met up with Garry a few years back when my better half arranged a few lessons for me as a Christmas present which was a nice surprise
I explained to Garry that I had been trying to play on and off for a few years prior but was clearly getting no where on a self- taught basis. He quickly started to put me in the right direction and those 3 lessons then became 3 more and in the end I was with him for nearly 3 years. The lessons were informative yet relaxed and enjoyable and he knew exactly where to pitch it so I could follow on at my pace
I still practice these days using Garry's notes and sheets printed out years ago and I know without his pleasant and relaxing style I would still be floundering in the dark.
